wierd DNS entry issue

Here how my network is setup, still using NT4 NOS. I have a user who is (
remote user) who came into the office and did some stuff and now from home.
He has a hard time access some resources on the network, before he came into
the office everything was working fine. He's running W2K Professional on
his machine, I'd tried nbtstat -R and -RR and still out of luck. I even
made a entry for him on his local host file and still no luck. We have a
inhouse app that require a connect to be made. I've made entries for the
local DNS and WINS and no luck still. He's connecting remotely through
cisco VPN client and no one else is having this problem but him. Can anyone
suggest to me what I can do???? Thanks.

Sorry no he can't ping at all, it might be his ISP and he cannot ping any
server by any name

Which DNS server address is in his IP properties? If he's dialed in or
connected thru his own cable or dsl connection, his machine maybe using
their DNS and not reverting to the internal DNS server. I would first
compare his VPN settings and network card settings with others that are
working. Maybe moving the RAS connection to the top of the binding order in
Network & Dialup Properties, Advanced,Advanced. Also may try to force the
DNS address to your internal one only to see if it works.
