Is there any way to reduce the width of the columns of My Programs - there is no place left to show additions. I can go to the scrolling view in Classic View but I prefer not to. The columns are unnecessarily wide.

It is based on the longest name. Find that one, shorten it, and you will see
the column width decrease.

The list you see is a combination of two folders -
%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs
and
%UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs

I suggest you organize the second folder to reduce the number of entries in
the list. For instance you might want to create an "Internet" folder
and put all of your internet applications inside that folder. eg.
Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and ...
You might want another folder named "Office". You'd put MS Word, Power Point,
Excell .. in that folder.
Really, how you organize is up to you.

START > Run... > %UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs
