I purchased an OEM version of Windows XP with a new hard drive and a
few other components. Installed the hardware and Windows, all looked
OK so I activated XP over the internet.

All was well for a few weks and then due to various problems I had to
re format the hard drive and reinstall everything. this went OK and I
decided no to activate windows straight away but wait, so I ignored
the remiders. when I decided to activate windows I clicked on the icon
and it came up "Windows is already activated please press OK to
continue"

It is now out of the 30 day trial period and reminds you every 10 mins
or so, woud like to activate but cannot, any sugestions would be
welcome, but don't want to start all over again

Cheers

Cheers, tried the forst method, nothing changed, tried second and
cannot find the key ok up to the microsoft but the crypography is
missing, this is the same on both my computors and the other one is
fine.

any other sugestions would be welcome as now I cannot get past the
login screen, just asks you to aactivate and then says already
activated and logs you back out again

Thanks again

Phil

Hi Phil,

It tells you it is already activated, or that it is already registered? Does
it do this in Safe mode as well?

(e-mail address removed) on 8th dec 2004, worked perfectly
cheers for your help

if you find the corrct solution list it!!!

So you found the fix for the problem... next time please tell us what it is instead of giving us a reference for the solution...which was posted back in 2004. At least give the link to the solution not just the date, and users email address...there are 15000 pages odd on this site.

Really........
