Widows Explorer Slow and Sticks

I have Mailwasher free and AVG free working, and recently Explorer seems to
have slowed. I am in a semi-rural area and Broadband is only 1.6Mhz, but more
importanly, I freqently can only close a Website by CTRL/ALT/DELETE and `end
task' Any ideas. (Windows XP: I.E.7)

ccleaner and see if things change...

Sorry not to have got back to you sooner, but other non PC problems have taken my attention. However I did try ccleaner and things are just the same.

Any further Ideas?
