Office 2003 SBE

When I try to open an excel file from an attachment, I get the following
error:

The system can not find the file specified.

Sounds like the Outlook Secure Temp Folder setting in the registry is
pointing to an invalid location/folder on the hard drive. If you open
RegEdit and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

you should see it pointed to a folder under the Temporary Internet Files
location. You will not be able to navigate to this location in Windows
Explorer, but you can thru a DOS/Command prompt. Generally I tend to change
the registry value to a folder I create under my personal TEMP folder.

clear your internet cache in IE or save the document and open it from the
hard drive.

This seemed like a good fix...logical, but the the problem persist.

After clicking on the attachment, excel opens, but the file does not....

Only happens with Excel and Excel works from the hard Drive

What type of 3rd party software do you have installed that integrates with
Outlook/Excel?

Also, do you have any antivirus installed on the system? (Looking for
anything that might want to scan the file before opening in the Office
application.)
