Why when I send a message "the operation failed" pop up appears?

I installed outlook xp on a new computer and now a window pops up when I try
to send/receive saying operation failed, however no explanation is given as
to why. All accounts are properly set up and I have been using this program
for 3 years with no issues.

There can be several different reasons you are seeing this error, but a common one is a problem with your Outlook profile. Please refer to the following KB article for more information, and
steps to create a new profile.
