Why typing the letter e in Outlook email open Excel?

Occasionally, while creating an email message in Outlook 2003 as I type the
letter e, the Excel program opens. I have checked the Excel executable to be
sure that there is no hotkey set. I have searched the web but am unable to
find a solution. Has anyone come across this before?

What mail editor are you using?
 
Thanks. I had MS Ofc Word 2003 checked. I unchecked the box and everything
seemed to be okay. This morning as I was creating an email message, when I
typed the letter w, Word opened.
