It is both nice and disheartening to see these kinds of comments. It
encourages the developers to continously improve the products and offer a
great value to customers and also gives impression that we still have people
around who draw conclusions based on others experience.

The efforts Microsoft has put in making Windows 7 is just awesome. I have
been using Windows 7 since Rc1 and I have loved this OS. Would recommend you
try the OS before making conclusions and judgements.

Best of luck

Looks like Windows 7 will be another Microsoft bomb. Take a look at the

I notice the one option not mentioned is to upgrade from XP to Vista
before upgrading to Windows 7. I wonder if a person did the upgrade to
Vista if they would have to Activate the installation before doing the
conversion to 7. If not, then one could use the same copy of Vista to
update multiple computers before upgrading to Windows 7 without losing
anything.
Of course this then begs the question of why Vista can upgrade XP but
Windows 7 can not.

Hy folks,
I really don't understand this flaming against this post. The little film at
least sounds serious. My only question is whether this "clean installation"
requirement is correct or not. If it really is, I need more than 2 days of
work to reinstall all applications and settings. Time to have a look to
"clean installations" of Linux and Open Office.

Two comments on MS release policy: 1) If one calculates the time need to
upgrade any MS software in term of $ this amount is normally higher than the
licence feee you pay to MS. This is also true if large company installations.
2) If one calculates the time needed by users to adopt to new handling
schemes (like in Office 2007), upgrading to a new release has considerable
negative financial effects. Users of MS software that count these financial
effects (like companies), might hesitate to upgrade. All in all I think, that
MS does not handle its customer assets well. The lack of acceptence of Vista
and Office 2007 in the BtoB arena is a severe warning.
