Why spam, why virus attacks?

A lot of people is busy to repel Spam and virus attacks.

They probably do with concern to protect their computers. This is
understandable.

But, why Spam and viruses are spread al over the InterNet?

Could it be, like advertisement, to divert as much as possible human beings
from more important things?

Besides they are able to impose anxiety. This is quite positive as well for
anti-Spam deliverors a swell for those offering remedies against virus
infestation to the public to urge it to buy anti Spam and anti virus
programs.

Dear Ernst,
there are some people in this world who always want to put others in the
ocean of anxiety.Hackers and spammers never get tired of doing this.Best
way to ignore them is to change your e-mail settings;which you can
surely do by entering the "option".

--radio commercials
--roadside billboards and vehicle sides
--newspaper pages and fillers
--walk thru mall with windows filled
--computer pop-up ads
--movie previews and commercials
--dvd/video cassette commercials
--magazine pages (hard and loose)
--junk post office mail
unless you are totally blind/deaf you have seen/heard
almost all of these.....why should email be
different.......your email address is out there because
you placed it out there somewhere sometime somehow.
maybe someone else has your address in an address book.
