Why Publisher 2007 configures when Outlook 2003 receives mail?

I just got a new computer with Windows Vista. On my old computer, I used
Outlook 2003 and Publisher 2007. There was never any conflict. After
installing Publisher 2007 on the new computer, whenever I hit "Send/Receive",
the Windows Installer comes on and says "Please wait while Windows configures
Microsoft Publisher". I thought maybe this was a one-time thing, but it does
it every single time I have mail. I know absolutely nothing about Vista. If
anyone knows what is going on, I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

did you let the installer run? that usually takes care of it.

We're getting the exact same problem with Visio 2007 & Outlook 2003 on
Windows XP, and it's happening on 3 PCs. I've searched all over the web and
cannot find any answers. I'd be really interested to know how you resolved
it.

Hi Tom,
Don't know if Scorpion01 solved his problem but I found installing MS Office
2003 Service Pack 3 cured ours.. The PCs we had the problem with didn't have
the SP installed; the PCs with the SP installed didn't have a problem. I
installed Office SP3 on the problem PCs and the problem went away.
