Why not have a feature to remove self from cc list for a thread

It would be useful in Outlook to have a feature to remove yourself from the
cc list for a subject or discussion thread - often once you get stuck in one
it's hard to get out again. This would be useful (a) to stop yourself being
flooded by indiscriminate "reply to all" behaviour; (b) to get out of the
loop if you have passed a subject on to another.

Ideally, this would have a functionality like meeting notifications, where
you can choose to notify the sender or not.

That would be up to the sending end; not the receiving one. It's quite
similar to SPAM except for the fact that you know the senders are legit.
