Why keep getting 503 No Recipient Error but NO EMAILS in Outbox?

Dear Experts, I keep getting the 503 No Recipient error everytime I hit the
SEND/RECEIVE button, or everytime it does its automatic SEND/RECEIVE.
Problem is, I do NOT have any unsent email, and my Outbox is completely
empty. Please help!
