Why is PPT automatically resizing my graphics?

I can't for the life of me figure out how to stop the program from
automatically resizing graphics when I paste them into a slide that already
has graphics on it (e.g., the paste resizes both the new graphic and the
existing graphics). It's maddening! The only workaround is to import the
graphic after saving it to a file, then after the resize, hit Undo, and then
it works. But what a pain.

I notice that sometimes it happens on slides, and other times it does not,
leading me to believe it's a setting somewhere on my master slide template.

easy fix
when you import the graphic from both clip art and select
art from file just go to the edit menu and select the top
selection. I cant remember what it says but it puts the
original layout back and allows you to move and resize just
the graphic you are inserting. I went crazy for a long time
on that one as well - hope this will work for you!

That works when I import something, but not when I just copy an image (right
click on the web, e.g.), then paste it straight in to the page. THAT'S
what's causing me the grief.

Matt,
Try going to Tools--> AutoCorrect--> AutoFormat as you type tab and
unchecking Automatic layout for inserted objects. Click ok and your problem
should be resolved....
