why is outlook sending messages I did not send

Status Bar displays "Sending message 1 of 5"

I have no messgaes in my Outbox and have not sent any messages. I am using
Norton Systemworks 2003 with Norton Anti-virus updated and I have XP SP2 with
the firewall on. I am also running Spybot Search and Destroy and that is
updated. It appears that I may have a trojan horse but I am not able to
detect it.

I have tried to view the Details of the Send and Receive but their is no
useful info. LLast comment, this started out as Sending 1 of 4 - it doesn't
appear as though the send actually succeeds in going out. I have also tried
to view my router outgoing log but this yields no useful info. TIA

Receipt messages was it and OutlookSpy removed them. Great tool but
intimidating!
