If it's actually shutting down, this sometimes a sign of overheating or a
problem with the computers power supply. Also, you might want to check
Event Viewer under Administrative Tools and look for any errors that
correspond with this event. Double click the error, the information it
reveals may give a clue as to the source of the issue. Is this a laptop?
If yes, when you use it, are making sure not to block its vents.
If it acts like a power failure, it's quite possibly the BIOS sensing a cpu over temp and
shutting it down.
One way to tell if that is the issue is that the machine will not respond to the power
switch for a few minutes.
I had it happen on my new machine a couple of times because the heat sink and fan we're
not properly seated.
