Why is it showing formulas

When I enter a formula on my worksheet is doesn't calculate it jus
stays as a formula. It's never done this before so I don't know what t
do. PLEASE HELP

Anna,

Take a look in Tools>Options>View and in the section called Window Options,
see if the Formulas checkbox is set. If so, unset it.

Check to see if formula box is checked on Tools-> Options-

If hitting CONTROL+` (that's the backtick found next to the number one)
doesn't work, then the cell may be formatted as text.

In that case, format the cell as general or other applicable format and
re-enter your formula.

If it wasn't the tools|options|view tab|formula setting:

Try formatting the cell as General (I'm guessing that it's Text)

And reenter the formula. (F2 followed by enter is enough)
