I just got Vista Home Premium and am fairly happy with it apart from the
issues listed at the end.
My question is: When I move a folder to another folder, why does the move
operation take so long? I switched from Mac OS X where the move, of course
on the same disk and partition, didn't require any wait time. With Vista, I
just moved a 6GB folder from the desktop to my home directory. It took five
minutes. Why the wait?
These other issues annoy me significantly - but I guess there's nothing I
can do:
- Mobile Device Center doesn't allow syncronization with Microsoft's built
in contacts and calendar system
- Microsoft Office 2007 Home/Student edition "send as email attachment" does
not appear if I don't have Outlook installed
- The dashboard can't be moved to the left side of the screen without having
icons automatically be deposited underneath the dashboard
- The startbar at the bottom is just as stupid as it's alway been - with
annoying balloon pop-ups, flickering multi-colored system tray icons.
- Lack of keyboard stroke method for minimizing or maximizing windows. I
like the ALT-F4 method, though.
