why i can not open the excel in windows98?

but i can open the m/s word, m/s access, m/s powerpoint except excel...what's
going on? urgent..

it's just hang there...and do restart same problem..
i tried to uninstall and reinstall...same problem...
can anyone help me....
so many important files...sigh..:(
