Why has my outlook instant search stopped indexing?

Quite unexpectedly my outlook instant search has stopped with message that
Outlook is currently indexing. I rebuilt the index, but same message appears
and indexing seems to have stopped. Diagnostics show all ok, but obviously
not. Any ideas?
