Anyone know why the filename and path field in footers shows the sharename not drive letter on some machines but not others

on one machine I see I:\chuck/docname.doc and on another I see \\data1\chuck$\docname.doc

Hi Chuck

You'll see the sharename unless the user has mapped the network drive

The UNC shows on only one of the machines but both have the drives mapped to I:

Intersting. Maybe something different in how drives mapped? Offline vs.
online. Try disconnecting and re-mapping?

I don't see any setting in Word which controls this. Due to some
"signal" between the OS and Word, I guess.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
