why excel sometimes goes to maximum row?

I have 2 xls, I have named them big and small.

They contain the same information but the size is very different

for example the big file is 2,128K
the small file is only 40K

When I open the big file, and hit the end <CTRL and END> key, it goes to row
66529, the small file is row 36. Actual row with input information is only
36. the rest are blanks.

In the small xls, all I did was delete the unused lines from the big xls.
Is there any function in xls than can remove these unused rows? In what
scenario does xls goes into the last cell of the page? how can this be
avoided.

I have read alot of discussion on file size - and also tried out the macro
from
http://www.contextures.on.ca/xlfaqApp.html#Unused

are they any tools that can scan existing xls in a folder and remove the
unused rows automatically? or perhaps when we attached the xls in an email?
or something that would prompt the user upon saving the xls to delete away
these unused rows?

I haven't heard of them, but that means little, maybe try in the programming
group.

That's just proper staff training. (not meant to sound flippant)

Sorry I can't be more helpful.
