Why don't my table folders display in expression elements?

I am trying to create an expression in the validation rule property of a
field inside a database table and the table nor its fields appear in the
Expressions Elements left column.

If it's any consolation, I don't see fields listed either when
creating a validation rule for a field. However, if you use the
Expression builder for a validation rule for a table, they do appear.

I don't think you can create a field validation rule that refers to
another field in the table -- only a validation for the table can
refer to the value of another field.
