Why don't my slides advance as soon as I add a music track in Pow.

I have two problems One is when I make a slide show all is well until I add a
music track then the slides do not advance if do a slide show. If I click on
the play button after right clicking on the speaker to see if my music has
been added then the line advances per second as though the music is playing
but I hear nothing. The only way I can get the slides to advance and play
music is when I use Music Span not the Insert/movies and sound/sound from
files option. This could answer my second question. Why when I package to CD
after making what I think is a successful presentation because it plays, the
slides advance and the music plays but I cannot package the slide show and
music to the CD. I get the slide show but no music. I thought the linked
files were automatically recorded. I am trying to get it to record after
using Music Span to add the music. This is the only way I can get the music
to play and the slides to advance. Isn't Music Span not supported by Package
to CD?
Thanks

MusicSpan is an add-in written in VBA. Package for CD uses the PowerPoint 2003
Viewer. The Viewer does not support VBA.

You can make your music work without using MusicSpan, and it will then work on a
CD. Try the following:

1. Open a new presentation and create about six simple slides.
2. Insert a music file on the first slide using Insert > Movies and Sounds >
Sound from File.
3. When asked if you want it to play automatically, reply automatically.
4. Right click the sound icon and select Custom Animations
5. Under "Stop playing" set it to stop after 999 slides.
6. Set your slide transitions (Slide Show > Slide Transition) to your choice of
"on mouse click" or "automatically after XX seconds".

Now test playing your new presentation. The sound should play throughout all of
your slides without stopping.
