why don't my front page allow for thumbnails to be show instead

I had an older version of front page which allowed thumbnails to be shown
when you wanted to insert a picture..on the newer version when I go to my
pictures in the front page all I get is lists which arn't that
informative..Is there a way that I can bring up thumbnails in my insertion
when I go to my pictures?? by the way all of my
pictures show as thumbnails in (my pictures)

After you insert the image, right-click on it and select Auto Thumbnail.

I'm wondering if you have IMPORTED all the images you need into your site
before using them on pages etc.

When you get that insert picture box with the list of files....up on the
tool bar of that window select the View you want...Preview will give you
thumbs to the right of the file names. The button is the regular windows
View drop down button...when you hover over it it says Views.
