why dont cell patterns print

when I add a pattern to a cell it doesn't show in the print preview nor does
it print.

Perhaps you have your File>Page Setup>Sheet "black and white" enabled?

Uncheck that item.

OR you have "Draft Quality" checked.

Uncheck that item.
