Why doesn't follow up flag reminders work if not in Inbox?

The flagged message will not activate its set reminder if I move it to a
folder other then the inbox. Is this a gliche or am I missing something. I
tried the help menus and various setting fields.
 
Reminders fire in your default folders of Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks.
They will not fire in user created folders. You can check out an add-in
