Why doesn't auto lookup of names in Outloook address book work?

According to Outllook When you type a name in the To, Cc, or Bcc box of an
e-mail message, Microsoft Outlook automatically checks to see if the name you
typed matches a name in the Address Book. If there is a match, the name is
resolved — the Display Name and e-mail address are filled in.

This does not happen automatically and I can't find a switch to turn it on?

Can anyone help?

It doesn't happen when you type in a name. It happens after you type in the
name and then move out of that field to another field. Are you doing this?
WHat happens if you enter the name and press CTRL-K? What version of
Outlook are you using? DO you have your Address Book service configured
properly?
