Why doesn't a new contact get properly alphabetized in contact li.

I hsave entered many contacts in the contact list without trouble. A new
contact will not be alphabetized properly. The "new contact" form even
changes my entry at times to reverse wording. For example: The list should
read Adams, Baker, Cohen, Drake, Edwards when I add a Drake. Yet it lists as
Adams, Bake, Drake, Cohen, Edwards regardless of how I enter the information.
Please help. Thank you.

JET retrieves Record in no particular order for efficiency.

If you want to display Records in a specific order, you need to specify the
sorting / ordering in the Query.

I was thinking this was an Outlook question since there was no mention of
Access or tables or records.
