Why does WordArt not appear in preview or in print

I am using Word 2000 on XP platform.When using WordArt, the text can be
entered and formatted ok but when I go to print preview it does not appear
and does not come out in print either

In Word, click on Tools | Options | Print | check the "Drawing objects"
box | OK.
