Why does Vista like my hard drive so much?

Oh that was one of my first rants when they did it.....
However I forgot about it.. because the first thing I do when I install
vista
is to turn it off....

Yeah indexing is a brilliant idea.. just like the dog was in XP search

"Turn off Indexing. You'll be glad you did."

That is until you try to search for something.

I think that depends on how a person searches, what size drive and how many
files. So, in some cases it is not that necessary.
