Why does this error message come up? How can I fix it?

Everytime I double click on Internet Explorer, it tries to connect and after
it connects and trys to go to the default home page. I get an errror message
that
says an error as occured and Internet Explorer needs to be shut down.

I have Windows 98 with IE6.
Here is the error message:

The key, here, is the <unknown> error, generally caused by Spyware.
