why does the EULA show on every opening of an office application

Guest

I have Windows Vista home basic edition operating system. I have just
installed an OEM version of Office 2003 for small offcie. Every time I open
an office application it asks me to accept the EULA. Each and every time I
press accept but I am asked again upon the next opening. How do I make the
EULA acceptance request go away?

Hi Sean

You've landed in the PowerPoint specific discussion group which may be why
you haven't had a reply yet. I did a quick search for "EULA" in the general
Office group and came across this (start at bottom and work your way up):

force quit your pc (ie hold down the power button on the pc) when the
computer restarts it will give you the option to start in safe mode. start
the computer in safe mode and then launch any of your office products when
the eula apears accept it. than shut down the pc (not restart) wait a few
second and then turn on your pc launch your office product and the eula will
no longer appear. Hope this helps as there has been alot of posts on this
subject but no real answers (that i could find anyway) at least this saved
me paying microsoft £40.00 for tec support. good luck and happy computing

Aww, you'll make me blush :)
Thank you for responding - so many people don't bother which is just plain
rude in my book.

I'll make it two then ... who'd imagine that it'd take such a wacky series of
actions to cure the problem? Thanks for posting this solution.

I know, bizzare isn't it? Though I can't really take the credit - found it in
the Office newsgroup...
