Why does space bar delete text instead of moving it?

You have inadvertently activated Overtype mode, probably by pressing
the Insert key. Press it again (or double-click OVR on the status bar
so that it greys out) to turn it off.

press the [insert] key on your keyboard

or at the bottom of the screen there is a button that says OVR, click on
that so that it is off.

Hi tweety23,

Probably because you've switched to overtype mode - you'll probably see that
the 'OVR' on the status bar is black, rather than grey. Try pressing the
insert key, or double-clicking the 'OVR'.
