Why does Outlook send from Microsoft Exchange Server?

We have both a POP3 and Exchange Server Account setup on Outlook at our
office computers. We only use Exchange to view each others calendars, and
use the POP3 for all of our e-mail needs. For some reason when you try to
reply to or forward and e-mail you originally wrote it tries to send it
through exchange server by default instead of the POP3 account. How can you
stop outlook from doing this by default?

What version of Outlook are you using?

Try Tools | E-mail Accounts | View or Change... click the POP service and
the "Set as Default" button.

I'm using outlook 2003 with SP1, and the POP3 account is set as my default.
As I said, it only tries to send it through the exchange server when you are
replying to or forwarding an e-mail you wrote. I've seen other people post
about this problem as well...very strange. I think it can probably just be
chalked up to a nice microsoft bug.
