Why does my printer keep hanging?

I've been trying to print some photographs and my printer prints part of the
photograph and then my PC freezes.

I'm using an Epson Stylus C84 and a Toshiba 4030CDT laptop.

The file sizes are only 67kb and 45kb and I've tried printing each
individually

Any ideas.

Have you defraged your hard drive and gotten rid of your temp files? How
full is the hard drive?
