When I open up outlook, it brings up all of my emails that I have read, it
does not update any new e-mails untill I type in my password which comes up
right away upon opening outlook. If I hit the cancel button for my password,
my old e-mails still stay there for any one to look at. Any one can come to
my computer and open up outlook and see every old e-mail.
Thanks

Yes, that would be as designed. The password is for your mail server, not
for Outlook itself or the PST files.

In Outlook, do a Help search on Password Protect Outlook, and you'll see
some hints there. However, if you don't actually log out of Outlook when
you walk away so that the PST file is closed, this may not be any real help.

The other thing you can do is to set up a screensaver with a short timer,
that requires you to use your account password - this of course assumes that
your account *does* have a password.

That is the case when using Exchange in cached mode. Note that the password
prompt is for the server and not the client.

Anyone coming to your computer can also get all the documents you have
access to and use all other applications and database access you have.
Therefor you should always either lock your computer or logoff when you are
away from your desk.
