Why does double clicking my format painter not work?

I cannot double click my format painter button. A single click works, but to
direct formatting reception at more than one destination, when I try to
double click, it just turns the button on and off, no matter how fast or
slowly I double click.

Hi,

Does double-click work anywhere else? If not you may want to visit the
Mouse settings in Window and change the speed. I know of nothing in Excel
which controls this.
