Access 2003 has been crashing over and over when:

1) Changing Crosstab queries to Select queries
2) 'Group By' on a subquery
3) Opening a Report

These are very simple operations. What is going on???

I suggest you try a repair and compact, no guarantee that it will help,
but it will not hurt.

Next do all these things have any common feature. for example are they
all using the same query? How about the same Table.

Have you tried copying the database and deleting nearly all the records
and run it?

And be sure to turn off "Name AutoCorrect" in Tools | Options.

Ken,

I think you're on to something with turning off the AutoCorrect option - I
forgot that I had just turned it on early that day. I became accustomed to
that feature in Access 2000 and allowed myself to develop bad habits, i.e.
renaming tables and expecting the dependent queries to automatically correct
for it.

Has the AutoCorrect feature been known to create problems in Access 2003? I
am a pretty low-level user and usually do not spend much time searching
online forums, etc., primarily because they have been painfully useless in
the past.

Thanks for your reply. Take care.

I'll check out this site shortly.

I tried turning off the AutoCorrect and things did not improve (I also
repaired and restarted). Looks like time for a make-over.

It's too bad - I was looking forward to using the Object Dependencies
feature in 2003.
