Why do the buttons used in link bar disappear

Hello. I have been trying to publish a site that contains a link bar. However
- when i publish the site, the button graphics disappear from the link bar,
leaving behind the text hyperlinks in their place.

Any suggestions - as to why this might be happening. The host server is
linux based with frontpage extensions installed.

Are the images for the buttons located "inside" your web??
Did you have a the web open and then the page when inserting them?? If not FrontPage thinks they
live on your C drive and not inside your web.

Are you publish to a server that has the FP2002 extensions installed via FP's http mode?

I am not sure if the host has FP2002 servers installed. I do know that it's
an apache server and the FP extensions are installed for my account. Any
ideas ?

I know i sound exceedingly ignorant , and truly appreciate your time to
answer this.

Yes, i had a web open whereafter i inserted the link bar. Also, i went and
double checked the folders and files uploaded to the server and the
corresponding "button" image files are located there in the same folder as
they are on my local machine.

The extensions must be FP2002 or the graphic link bar will not display.

You can open the site directly in FP via File Menu | Open Web / Site then click on Tools | Web /
Site setting to see the extension version.

Server extension version: 5.0.2.2623

Also, when i open the site in FP2002, the buttons appear fine ! ! !

Ok, then run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks and see it that fixes the issue.

I just tied what you suggested. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem.
What do you suggest next. ?

You are using themes and shared borders
Remove all spaces from all file and folder names - breaks links and your button images
