Why do some files display in blue while others in black

This is not a problem, but I do wonder why some files are
displayed in a blue colored font while most are displayed
in black. It would seem that this color coding means
something, but what?
 
Blue means the file is located on a network drive, go into the explorer
options if you want to disable the blue color.
 
Not necessarily. The other response was more accurate: blue signifies
compression.

The blue files are compressed.

For details, click Start | Help and Support, and type "compressed" into the
Search box.
