Why do my calendar entries not show up in my to-do bar or tasks?

I am using outlook 2007. I have imported a calendar containing about 250
recurring events - mainly birthdays and the like - but these events do not
show up in my tasks or to-do bar before they are due, or even when they are
due. How can I make it so that they do?
