Why do Lines appear double spaced if I hit enter

If I enter a hard return, the next line below appears to be 2 lines lower.

Like this.

If use text that wraps to the next line, the next line is single spaced the
way it's supposed to be, like this line. Why does this happen and how can I
fix it? This is a new install of FP 2003.

Nevermind, I just saw a response to a similar question. Looks like this
question gets asked over and over again but it would seem more logical if the
behavior of the enter, and shift-enter were reversed.
