Why do i not hear a sound when recieving Email the sound is on

I am having problems with the sound when i receive an email in other words
i'm not getting 1. The sound option is ticked so I don't know why I am not
being notified when i receive emails. Can anyone help
 
Besides ticking the sound option within Outlook, you have to select a sound
for New Mail Notification under the Sounds Icon in Control Panel. Hope that
helps!
