Why do I get message saying "file is read only."

;I am trying to write memoirs using WP10 on PC running
Win XP.Each time I try to save what I just finished
writing on a disk on my HP PC, which has a network of my
wife and me that was installed when we went DSL few
months back, I receive note that I must get permission
from Administrator to save to internal disk on my PC. I
am the owner of the system; I do not have an
Administrator.

It is awfully annoying to constantly be reminded that I
do not have permission to proofread what I have just
written. Who is this mythical "Administrator?" How did he
get on my system? When I log on mornings, I see only my
wife and me as users of the system, and she seldom turns
on her computer because of job pressure as HS teacher.

You are the administrator. go to user accounts and see
what your settings are. if you have admin access then you
have a prob. To log on as Administrator go to the user
log on screen and press alt+ctrl+del twice the admin
window will pop up.
