Why Different Versions of Arabic?

Hi,

I would like to know why there are different versions of Arabic available
(as part of WinXP) when the written Arabic script (so I'm told!!) is the same
the world over (& understood by all Arabic speakers), even though spoken
Arabic does vary (dialects etc.) from country to country?

Are there differences between Arabic (Bahrain) and Arabic (Oman) for
example, and if so does anyone know of any examples?

Thanks.

Because Arabs can't agree with anybody......even themselves.

For the same reason Americans, Australians, Canadians, Brits, and others
write English but sure seem to speak a different 'language'.
