Why can't I see picture icons on one computer but not the other?

I have 2 computers with XP Pro SP2. On one, if you go to the My
Pictures folder, you can actually see small images, but on the other
computer, you just see the generic icon that tells you it's a photo
file. I tried all the viewing options available, but none allow me to
see the actual images in miniature. Is there something I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

On one computer you have the My Pictures folder to view the files icons as "Thumbnails"
On the other computer you do not have that view selected, if available.

When you open the My Pictures folder on the computer that does not show thumbnails.
At the top, in the tool bar, there is a tool that is called "Views".
When you click on the little arrow head at the edge of this tool, is "thumbnails" listed as an
option?
