Why cant I create MDE?

I have Access 2002 - SP2 installed and I want to create MDE file. But my
Make MDE option is disable! What changes I need to enable the option?

The default database version for Access 2002 is 2000. You can only create a
..mde file for databases that are in the version you are working in. Convert
your database to 2002 and you should be able to create the .mde.

Then it should be a simple thing to convert it to 2002 so you can create the
MDE.
