why can I not see my E-mail Account when I click on it under tools

My Outlook 2003 has stopped recieving or sending emails. When I click on
send/recieve nothing happens. When I click on "new" I get a window which
states.
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart outlook." The same thing happens if I pull up an old msg
and click on reply, forward .... If I go to tools and e-mail account, I get a
msg "The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem. Restart
outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall. I have
reinstalled, and I get the same thing. Any suggestions?

After reading your link below, I was able to pull up outlook in safe mode...
although it still didn't work..

I then went down the list and did all but #1. (I'm not sure where my
personnal folder is located, how do I find it) I didn't have any add-ins...

I tried to add a new profile, I got an error which says 'There was an error
accessing your system registry'

This is not looking good...

Uninstall Office completely and then install it again. Use Office Update to
install Service Pack 2 and additional hotfixes.

Do you mean like.... deinstall outlook, excel, word...etc? Should I do it
from the install disk, or go into remove programs window?

I had windows 2002 on my computer, and when I installed 2003 it did leave a
file called office10 in the microsoft files... should I also get rid of that
folder?

Michele, try using a regisrty check and fix. I recommend Norton Utilities. It
some times will find and fix bad registry entries.
