I have a .pst file that is 2.061 megs. I am not able to deal with
appointments or delete e-mail. I tried to repair the .pst file but with no
success. Only a message telling me there was an error and the scan could not
be completed. Is there any hope to retrieve any of the informnation in that
..pst file? Please help.

I had this same problem and an MVP told me to delete what I could
using Shift/Delete, then compact everything by right clicking the
Outlook Today folder and choose Properties, Advanced and Compact Now.
He also suggested creating a second PST file (File>New>Outlook Data
File) to split up the data when I keep so much. Worked for me. You
must get that file size down before you can deal with it.

There is no guarantee that any tool can uncorrupt a corrupted file. If
the other suggestions don't work, restore the .pst file from your
backups. If you don't do backups, you deem your data as worthless or
reproducible. Files get corrupted from many causes. Malware happens.
Disks die.
