why am i having to log off twice

hey all thanks for interest, when i log off my machine makes a few noises as
if its about to log out, but nothing happens,when i log off the second time
it works, any one tell me how to fix this and stop this from happening.

Actually in most cases your jumping the gun. It works when you do it again
because it was already woring. Wait a minute and it may Log Out. If it
doesn't and you waited post back and we can look into it in more detail.

I had similar problem between 2 admin accts:

you probably have a prgm running as a service instead of as a program.

make sure you have run all the WinXP updates.

and reboot the pc at least weekly.

this cured mine.
